A Day in the Life
of a Radiologist
Radiologists are the doctor’s doctor. They are trained in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging and minimally invasive procedures. Diagnostic radiologists work in front of a high-resolution monitor “reading” medical images. He or she is looking for signs of disease that will help your physician diagnose a medical condition. Interventional radiologists perform procedures to diagnose and treat a wide variety of diseases and conditions using imaging, needles, and catheters. Radiologists who specialize in nuclear medicine study how the body functions using small amounts of radioactive material. Each radiologist is different and each highly specialized in their field of study.
